Due to the nature of its business activities, the PZU Group attaches significant importance to social responsibility and business ethics.

From a formal perspective, the highest standards of conduct are safeguarded and regulated by internal policies that define functions across multiple areas, including marketing and sponsorship, support for affected communities, incident reporting and crisis response procedures. At the highest level within the organization, responsibility for the implementation and application of these policies rests with the Management Board of each entity included in the PZU Group.

PZU Group companies have established specific indicators and action directions aimed at effectively managing material impacts, risks and opportunities related to affected communities. The strategic directions for social engagement within the PZU Group included activities aimed at preventing the occurrence of or mitigating the effects of unforeseen events, building brand image and customer trust, and addressing social issues. Support initiatives and programs were implemented by various entities within the PZU Group, in line with their respective resources and competencies; however, all entities operate in a complementary manner, reinforcing one another and strengthening PZU’s positive impact on society.

Corporate Social Responsibility

A positive impact on the environment is of great importance to the PZU Group, as it contributes to the company’s long-term success. The main document governing the PZU Group’s social engagement is the Social Engagement Strategy 2025–2027, which describes and sets out the key directions for the implementation of preventive projects, sponsorship activities, and other initiatives supporting local communities. This Strategy was developed jointly by PZU, PZU Życie SA, and the PZU Foundation; however, all entities within the PZU Group are involved in its implementation, in line with their respective resources and capabilities.

PZU Group’s subsidiaries and dependent entities also acknowledge the importance of supporting local communities. Therefore, BALTA and Lietuvos Draudimas have implemented their own corporate social responsibility policies, which set out standards of conduct towards local communities and establish a framework for sponsorship initiatives.

Respect for human rights in relation to affected communities

The PZU Group’s commitments to respecting human rights have been formalized in the Human Rights Policy of the PZU Group, available on the PZU website (Policies and reports). The PZU Group’s approach to respecting human rights is applied consistently across all stakeholder groups: employees, clients, suppliers, business partners, and other entities. The PZU Group is committed to acting to ensure equal treatment and to prevent all forms of discrimination and rights violations. For details on the aforementioned policies, see section  (S) Social – Employees of PZU Group. In 2025, there were no incidents regarding respect for human rights and non-compliance with UN and OECD guidelines against the affected communities.

Transparency of sponsorship and charitable activities

PZU Group engages in sponsorship initiatives to support projects of significant social and cultural importance. Transparency of activities in this area is defined by the Sponsorship Activities Regulations, which lay down rules for implementing projects on supporting events and initiatives for the public. The document regulates project execution, billing procedures and sponsorship budget management principles.

Subsidiaries in the PZU Group may create their own regulations for their activities. BALTA has taken advantage of this opportunity in its Sponsorship and Social Support Policy, which defines rules for corporate engagement in social initiatives and sponsorship. The document addresses local community and consumer needs by prioritizing support for social and educational initiatives.

In the case of the PZU Foundation, charitable activities are regulated by two documents: Statute and Grant Award Regulations of the PZU Foundation.

The PZU Foundation supports social, educational, cultural, and health initiatives. The Statute and Grant Award Regulations define the rules by which organizations and entities can apply for funding for projects that align with the Foundation's objectives. These documents specify the evaluation criteria for applications, submission procedures and fund settlement processes. They are publicly available on the PZU Foundation’s website, allowing potential applicants to familiarize themselves with the application and fund utilization guidelines.

Emergency assistance

PZU Group not only focuses on social development and corporate responsibility but also prepares for emergency situations. Disaster response guidelines outline procedures that enable swift support for communities affected by natural disasters. Implemented solutions include mobile support offices, simplified claims reporting procedures and a notification system that enables insured individuals to stay informed about potential threats.
