PZU Group entities publish information on programs and initiatives for affected communities on PZU’s website, social media, and PZU Group reports. Additionally, broader marketing campaigns are conducted to raise awareness of ongoing efforts.
The PZU Group proactively tailors initiatives and programs to best address the community’s needs, including both its own activities and cooperation with external entities. The role of the community was to report needs and precisely define the issues that required resolution. The design and implementation of operational measures are managed by employees in specialized units, who assess the justification of the request and its alignment with PZU Group’s social engagement goals.
All PZU Group initiatives operate on an annual cycle with a built-in continuity mechanism. The relevant divisions of PZU Group, which managed community-related actions, allocated their yearly budgets to carry out these responsibilities.
Beneficiaries of the PZU Group’s social activities
The PZU Group understands affected communities to mean communities in general, and in particular customers, suppliers, contractors, and business partners who are or may be affected by the PZU Group in the course of its business operations. Preventive, support, educational, aid, and sponsorship activities are carried out for the communities. This impact can be extended to all entities with which cooperation is ongoing, regardless of origin, ethnicity, legal form or other characteristics. PZU Group’s initiatives are directed to all residents in the countries where PZU Group operates. The PZU Group implements activities for both individual representatives of the community and groups of people who may be affected by fortuitous events, such as natural disasters, traffic accidents or other chance events.
An important group of beneficiaries includes children and young people, who have access to insurance and financial education programs. Specific sponsorship and preventive initiatives were developed and implemented in response to the needs and voice of the community. Actions in this area are launched in response to requests. In accordance with internal regulations, prevention and sponsorship requests are subject to substantive evaluation and then submitted to the Sponsorship and Prevention Committee for decision. This process ensures stakeholder participation and real shaping of activities for the community.

The process of monitoring the implementation of each preventive and sponsorship initiative begins with the evaluation of the request and the Committee’s decision. Each request is registered in the internal system for handling sponsorship and prevention requests. A request may be accepted for implementation after an agreement has been entered into with the counterparty. The evaluation of the effectiveness of each initiative is composed of two stages: the ex-ante stage, i.e. forecast evaluation, and the ex-post stage, i.e. the verification of the achieved results. Each counterparty is evaluated in terms of its resources, required standards and certificates, meaningful experience, and holding relevant authorizations to perform the task. The evaluation is recorded in the system.
The implementation of each initiative finishes with the preparation of a report, which is subject to substantive review and approval of the internal unit at PZU. Details of the process are provided in PZU’s internal regulations for the prevention and sponsorship area. The PZU Group reports on the final results of the implementation of its social activities as part of its sustainability reporting. Presenting information on the implementation of business strategy and initiatives is not only fulfillment of the PZU Group’s disclosure obligations but also an active form of communication with stakeholders. More detailed information about ongoing activities is available on the PZU Group’s website and social media.
Other entities in the PZU Group monitor the implementation of their own initiatives in accordance with their internal regulations.
A report is drawn up on the implementation of each initiative.
